The Intercollegiate Record Label Association (IRLA) is a consortium of representatives from student-run record labels and other student-run music-related organizations. The IRLA exists to:

  • facilitate the sharing of information and best-practices between student leaders and faculty advisors of student-run labels/organizations

  • facilitate communication between music industry entities and the leaders and advisors of our member labels and organizations.

We are in the process of updating our list of student-run record labels and related organizations, and will be launching our updated website by the end of September 2025.

To be eligible for membership in the Intercollegiate Record Label Association (IRLA), an organization must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be an officially sanctioned student group or organization OR part of an active, credit-bearing course within a college or university.

  • Day-to-day operations must be led by currently enrolled students.

  • Must have a designated faculty advisor or instructor, currently employed by the college or university, who provides oversight.

  • Eligible member organizations may include student-run record labels and other music-related groups focused on sectors such as (but not limited to) recording, artist services, sync licensing, music publishing, promotion, event production, or public relations.

  • Member organizations are expected to remain active within their campus communities and contribute to IRLA through regular communication and knowledge-sharing.
